My Wedding – June 19 2010

Welcome to my blog!

My name is JonMarc Grodi. I am 24 and married to Teresa Marie Grodi, the love of my life and mother of my son, Dominic. I am a Roman Catholic, I have a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Bowling Green State University, and I work as Communications Coordinator for the Coming Home Network International.

This is a blog of some of my thoughts and experiences as a student of philosophy and the arts, a young husband and father, and an aspiring faithful Catholic and follower of Christ.

The title of the blog is based on a quote by George Orwell: “We have now sunk to a depth at which restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men”.

While I cannot necessarily count myself among intelligent men, I hope to be counted at least as their pupil.

My heroes are the writers who took up arms at the beginnings of the present darkness – Chesterton, Lewis, Tolkien, Bellock, Percy, O’Connor, and others. They saw modernism and all its twisted philosophies and psychologies and sociologies on the way, and they beautifully, patiently, craftily, and courageously asserted the simple truths that our society is quickly and actively attempting to forget.
